Sue Pender

CPA, Senior Accountant

Prior to joining YNBP in October 2018, Sue was the Owner and Managing Partner of SNP Accounting Services, LLC in Manassas, VA, a firm which she founded in 2005. This Certified Public Accounting firm provided full-spectrum accounting, payroll, and financial advisory services to small and medium sized businesses and individuals. In the ten years preceding the founding of her own CPA Firm, Sue gained extensive knowledge in bookkeeping, auditing, and preparation of federal and multistate tax returns. Having worked in both public accounting firms and private industry, her experience is well rounded.

Sue is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA). She is an astute and logical thinking CPA with more than 18 years of expertise in providing comprehensive accounting, tax, and financial services for a diverse client base, including corporations, individuals, partnerships, and trusts. Sue’s strong work ethic is instrumental in developing and maintaining strong client relationships while managing multiple client engagements simultaneously. Sue comes to YNBP with a wealth of knowledge in general accounting, cost accounting, and tax planning and preparation. She also has a solid background in successfully representing clients before federal, state, and local tax authorities.

Sue was born and raised in Korea. She met her husband while working as a civilian on a military base. They married and moved to New Jersey in 1981. Following moves to Texas, Maryland, Ohio, and they settled in Virginia. Sue earned her Associate of Applied Science in Accounting from Sinclair Community College in 1997. In 2004, she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from George Mason University.

Sue and her husband, Tom, recently moved from Manassas, VA to Harrisonburg, VA. They have three adult children and two grandchildren. Sue is eager to and quickly becoming an integral member of YNBP by serving clients in the Harrisonburg area and continuing to serve clients transitioning with her from the Manassas area.

In her spare time, Sue enjoys biking, hiking, and swimming – an activity that she has learned to do in recent years.
